Game giant Konami to recruit talent for Web3, metaverse push

Japanese video game giant Konami has announced it will hire a wide range of personnel in a major push to develop its Web3 and metaverse services.
In its October 13 statement, Konami Digital Entertainment, a subsidiary of Konami Holdings, also said it was planning to launch a new service that will allow players to trade NFTs in games through a proprietary blockchain-based platform.
The jobs being offered by the game giant come from three divisions responsible for infrastructure development, production and operation and support. Their roles range from system engineers, programmers, project managers, designers, producers, to legal, finance, accounting and intellectual property executives.
Konami said the hiring plan aimed to “further strengthen our structure and accelerate our business” and it was looking for talent who will work together “to expand our business to evolve with a new future for digital entertainment.”
The company said it had been researching how to incorporate the latest technologies into games, and the NFT service would be among its new main products.
The NFTs can be used in-game as items, as well as tokens to take part in communities and events and interact with other players, Konami said.
