DAZN offers secondary transactions in sports NFT marketplace
Sports streaming platform DAZN has launched a marketplace for secondary transactions of sports-related NFTs.
The secondary marketplace was opened on October 5 as part of a new function within DAZN MOMENTS, a sports-specific NFT marketplace that was launched in collaboration with Mixi in March.
Mixi is a game developer which also owns the Chiba Jets of the men’s B-League basketball team. Videos of athletes’ super plays and memorial scenes are sold as NFTs with serial numbers, each containing a 30-second clip of match highlights.
The launch of the secondary marketplace, which was announced in July, allows users to buy and sell NFTs, and payments can be made through bank accounts on a yen basis, or using the crypto asset MIXI CASH.
DAZN is “a way to discover new ways to get involved in sports, a way to enhance your own sports life,” said DAZN’s chief executive Yoshioka.
To commemorate the launch of the secondary marketplace, DAZN is also running a lucky draw to offer DAZN T-shirts to people who buy the NFT of the “2022 MEIJI YASUDA J1 LEAGUE 1st Half” section 16.
