JR West to release railway NFTs on LINE marketplace
JR West will release a collection of railway NFTs on the LINE NFT marketplace this month. The tokens can be set as users’ profile icons on the instant messaging app.
The “JR West Kaitekitetsu NFT Collection” will include a total of 96 NFTs, including trading cards (1,100 yen), 3D figures (3,300 yen) and train marks (2,200 yen). Each is limited to 100 pieces and features one of 32 different trains.
On the first day of the collection’s launch, on October 14, an additional three NFTs of the “Twilight Express” sleeper train will be available for sale. The rest of the lineup will be announced on the special page and official Twitter the day before the release.
The 3D Figure NFTs will feature an animation of a moving miniature train, with the tunes of “Heykens Serenade,” “Alps Ranch” or “Railway Song” being played as in-train chimes.
In conjunction with the 29th Railway Festival to be held at Hibiya Park in Tokyo, the “Series 500 Shinkansen NFT” will go on sale on October 8. This will be a 3D figure NFT, priced at 1,500 yen and limited to 500 pieces.
To commemorate the release of the NFTs, paper editions of the trading cards (32 types) will be distributed free of charge at railway-related events held by JR West.
