Copic drawing contest to convert winning works into NFTs

Graphic marker brand Copic will convert prize-winning works from its annual drawing contest into NFTs as part of efforts to arouse interest in the new digital artwork among creators and fans.
Winners of the Grand prize and runners up in the COPIC AWARD 2022 will earn the right to turn their prize-winning entries into NFTs, marker brand and organizer Copic said on September 7.
The NFTs can then be sold via the COPIC AWARD NFT Store, a new marketplace due to open in early October.
The annual contest aims to connect with Copic users around the world and requires participants to use the brand’s products. Contestants can submit their works from July 1 to September 15.
Results of a first-round selection will be announced in November and final results will be released in February 2023. The winner of the Grand prize will receive a cash prize of US$3,000, a trophy and a full set of 358 Copic Sketch markers in a specially made case.
Last year, it received a total of 5,183 entries from 94 countries and regions.
The NFT project is led by Too Digital Marketplace (Too DMP), which is part of the Too Group, the developer of Copic, and which runs NFT consulting business.
