Meta rolls out cross-platform NFT posting on Facebook and Instagram
Meta has launched a feature allowing users to post their NFTs on both Facebook and Instagram, the company announced on August 30, months after it started a trial on support for digital collectibles on the platforms.
In effect, users can show the NFTs they have linked to their Instagram accounts on Facebook.
After connecting a digital wallet to either platform, they can display the NFTs on both Facebook and Instagram, Meta said in a statement.
Formerly known as Facebook, Meta declared its intention to focus on the metaverse domain when it rebranded itself with the current name in October 2021.
It started testing support for NFTs on Instagram in May, and launched a trial for select U.S. creators on Facebook the following month. So far, NFT features have been available for Instagram users in about 100 countries, including Japan.
Third-party wallets supported in the new feature include Rainbow, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet. Dapper Wallet is also expected to join them soon, according to Meta’s announcement. Supported blockchains include Ethereum, Polygon and Flow.
