Web3 industry players to join Metaverse Japan Summit, speakers to include Animoca Brands’ Yat Siu

Dozens of senior executives involved in Web3 businesses in Japan and abroad, including Hong Kong-based Animoca Brands co-founder Yat Siu, will gather at a summit in Tokyo next week to discuss issues surrounding the metaverse.
Metaverse Japan Summit will cover a wide range of topics, including Japan’s economy, artist empowerment, rule making, business, local government and technological revolution. The event will be held in Shibuya, Tokyo on July 14.
The summit is organised by Metaverse Japan (MVJ), an association which aims to share cutting-edge knowledge in the metaverse domain across different industries and business, and to unleash the power of Japan in the Web3 era.
MVJ board members and advisors will discuss Japan’s growth strategies, challenges and how to incorporate the metaverse into business and society to build a digital economy in the future.
Masaaki Taira, member of the House of Representatives and former deputy minister of the cabinet office; Kunimi Mabuchi, PwC Japan managing director and MVJ representative director; and Shinko Nagata, director and secretary general of Shibuya Future Design, will talk about the new Japanese digital economy pioneered by the Web3 metaverse.
Animoca Brands’ Siu will share his views on the recent global trends relating to the metaverse.
Mika Sawae, chief operating officer and chief quality officer at metaverse company HIKKY and advisor to MVJ; Kiyoyuki Amano, chief officer at Kayac studio; and VR artist Aimi Sekiguchi will discuss how Web3 empowers artists in another session.
MVJ, established in March, holds regular seminars featuring metaverse experts at home and abroad. It has set up several working groups on AR, VR, decentralised autonomous organisations (DAOs) to provide a forum for regular communication and learning among members.
