Ikikata, Big Hat Monkeys explore ‘web3 x music’ with NTT Docomo
Japan-based web service developer Ikikata and NFT community “Big Hat Monkeys” launch a trial on a new music NFT platform with the country’s leading mobile operator NTT Docomo.
The platform “Sound Desert” aims to explore the concept of “Web3 x Music” and will work closely with artists to make music using NFTs. A beta version will be released in early March.
By supporting and collaborating with music artists, Sound Desert aims to combine music with illustration-based works in the NFT art scene. The project will provide support for the production and marketing of NFT music, as well as matchmaking services for artists. Currently, over 30 music artists and illustrators, including reggae DJ DOZAN11 (Michizo Miki), the NFT collection “NEO TOKYO PUNKS,” and musician Akira Sunset, have been included as working partners.
The project will allow artists not only to sell their music as NFT but also manage their collection. Transaction on the platform requires the MetaMask digital wallet and Ethereum.
Sound Desert was a project during NTT Docomo Group’s business creation contest “ZERO ONE DRIVE.”
In the collaboration, Ikikata will provide support for service operation, platform development and Web3-related technology, while Big Hat Monkeys will provide planning, advertising, and marketing support for artists.
