Nike’s .Swoosh invites users to create own digital footwear
.Swoosh, Nike’s new NFT platform, has offered its users a rare chance to create their own one-of-one digital sneakers as a reward for winning its contest.
Members of the .Swoosh community were invited over the weekend to take part in a contest called #YourForce1, which asked users to build a visual storyboard on Instagram showing their footwear design.
Organizers would then select four winning designs and reward each of the creators with US$5,000 and the chance to collaborate with Nike designers to create their unique digital footwear.
The four designs would also become a part of Nike’s first signature collection set to launch in the near future, Nike said.
“At .SWOOSH, we’d like to expand the definition of what a creator can be. That’s why this .SWOOSH Studio contest prioritizes creative storytelling over creative skills,” Nike said in a press release.
Nike has taken active steps in the Web3 domain in recent years, including its acquisition of digital fashion house RTFKT, a digital footwear project that developed NFT projects such as “Clone X,” and the launch of .Swoosh in November.
