LINE drops free fortune-telling NFT to mark 2023
LINE Xenesis, the company behind LINE’s crypto asset and blockchain-related businesses, is dropping a fortune-telling NFT for free to mark the beginning of 2023.
Users can receive 15 different types of tokens featuring a rabbit, which represents the zodiac sign of the year 2023, via LINE’s NFT marketplace between December 26 and January 15.
The event was held “to thank users for their continued support and to encourage them to experience NFT for the first time,” according to LINE. The gift NFT is marked with “very auspicious” or “moderately auspicious” along with the character to suggest the possible level of luck the recipient will have in the year. It can also be used as their profile icon for their LINE messaging app.
In addition, a lottery will be held to give each of 15 lucky LINE users a LINE Pay balance worth 2,000 yen.
The LINE NFT service was launched in April. NFTs can be purchased from a LINE account, and then be stored in the “LINE BITMAX Wallet”, a wallet that allows users to manage their NFTs using their LINE account. The service also allows secondary distribution.
In December, LINE launched a new function that allows users to set their NFTs to their profile icons on LINE.
